PIA is the lead sponsor for a commissioning project with Gallery TPW. For her first exhibition in Toronto, Chicago-based artist Cauleen Smith will collaborate with Canadian artists Camille Turner and Jérôme Havre to explore their unique realities of Black in Canada, the US and France. The project will consist of a film which seeks to represent the complex conversations they have been engaged in about the differences and similarities in their experiences.
Cauleen Smith is an American born filmmaker and multimedia artist. She is best known for her experimental works that address the African American identity, specifically the issues facing black women today.
