Who are we? Who do we aspire to be?

Canada at 150 is a once in a lifetime opportunity to examine our collective histories and have a conversation about our shared future.

LandMarks2017 will ignite this conversation through art.

LandMarks2017 is a series of new multidisciplinary art projects inspired by nature.

These may include:

Site-specific installations and sculptures

Pop-up art exhibitions

Interactive, online projects

Five curators will inspire and lead art students, established artists and local communities in the creation of collaborative works of art.

These art students, enrolled in a specially designed national curriculum, will help to execute and realize the curatorial vision.

On the ground, LandMarks2017 will take place in communities located in or close to Canada’s national parks.

Online, at, Canadians will be able to learn, play and participate in the creation of collaborative digital art.

The year-long project culminates during LandMarks2017 week in June 2017, which coincides with the summer solstice and National Aboriginal Day.
