In April 2013 PIA was presented with the Mocca Award, a $25,000 prize that honours the accomplishment of innovators in the field of the visual arts. To celebrate this achievement, Mocca and PIA commissioned three artists to create short videos celebrating PIA and its spirit of collaboration and education.
The proceeds of the award were donated to the National Gallery in support of artist Shary Boyle’s participation in the Venice Biennale.
