Partners in Art supported the National Gallery’s entry for the 2015, 56th Venice Biennale – by the artist collective from Quebec City – BGL Art Collective (Jasmin Bilodeau, Sébastien Giguère, Nicolas Laverdière). PIA’s ongoing support for the Venice Biennale recognizes the important role this venue has for showcasing Canadian contemporary artists internationally.
BGL’s Canadassimo transformed the Canada Pavilion: a structure of scaffolding expanded the exterior, while the inside is filled with a multitude of curious objects.
PIA has supported Canadian artists at the Venice Biennale in 2007 (David Altmejd), 2009 (Mark Lewis), 2011 (Steven Shearer), 2013 (Shary Boyle), 2015 (BGL), 2017 (Geoffrey Farmer) and 2019 (ISUMA)
