PIA was the presenting partner of the installation Berlin 2012/1983, 2015 by Canadian duo Daniel Young & Christian Giroux. The installation explored the artists’ preoccupation with the built environment, documenting architectural construction in Berlin and pairing new buildings with those erected during the era of the divided city. The installation was a part of TIFF’s first stand-alone summer gallery show, which celebrated contemporary artists working in 35mm film/installation-based projects. The show also featured noted British artist Tacita Dean’s recent work.
